This Alessi Kettle 9091 in stainless steel is mirror polished with melodic whistle in brass and handle in PA, black.
The kettle has a magnetic steel heat diffusing bottom. This kettle was Alessi's first designer kettle, heralding a new season of kettle ideas for ourselves as well as many other kettle manufacturers. The true heart of this design is the brass whistle whose pipes sing two notes, mi and si, when the steam blows through them, giving a particularly attractive melody. Sapper wanted to avoid giving the kettles whistle the usual irksome sound of the other kettles on the market. And this purely musical requirement led to what I think can be described as Alessis first multi-sensorial design.

Alessi products are created with a design excellence and an artisanal eye for detail. Founded in 1921 in Omegna Italy the brand has continued to grow and widen its range of functional household items, designed with a creative and artistic twist.

The kettle works wonderfully. We laugh everytime the whistle goes off. Its sounds like a musical foghorn. The main purpose of the kettle was quiet as electric kettles are so noisy whilst boiling. I do miss flicking the switch and auto cutoff but it looks so beautiful, so Alessi, that I don't mind.
