The Marimekko 50 x 50cm Suur Unikko pattern cushion cover is made of an unbleached cotton and linen blend. The Navy Blue and Natural coloured cover has a concealed zipper on one side.
This Marimekko cushion covers are sewn using the whole length of the fabric, and therefore their appearance may vary slightly. Each item is unique.
The Unikko pattern came about in 1964 after Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, announced in public that no floral fabrics are designed at Marimekko. Maija Isola, the renowned Finnish designer, did not accept rules or restrictions and designed a complete collection of bold floral patterns in protest: Unikko, a Finnish word that means poppy. Today, Unikko is one of Marimekko's best-known patterns and recognised around the world.
