AS SEEN IN HOUSE + GARDEN JANUARY 2024 ISSUE

In the January 2024 issue of House & Garden magazine, readers were invited on a journey exploring the theme of "Holiday at Home." From transforming interiors into serene retreats to crafting outdoor sanctuaries perfect for relaxation, the issue was brimming with ideas to help create a vacation-like ambiance within the comfort of one's own home.

We were particularly inspired by H&G's feature on the beautiful hidden garden retreat of Camilla d'Antoine, her husband Tim, and their young family on the Mornington Peninsula. The family moved to the property, which included an old weatherboard cottage, in 2016 and began a rebuild in 2020, completing it in 2022.

When creating their new gardens - now 15 months old - they worked with multiple levels, requiring careful attention to drainage. Key design elements included vertical sleepers to retain garden beds, steel edging, and crazy paving. Camilla explains, "The garden has so many uses; there's a paved area for family entertaining and a large lawn for the kids to set up cricket games and bounce on the in-ground trampoline."

This edition also features The Source, offering tips on keeping gardens fresh this summer with a selection of classic alfresco accessories in blues and greens. Highlights include Living By Design's Paloma Outdoor Slatted Dining Table in White Aluminum, Elume Outdoor Candles, and Planet Finska lawn games, all of which take centre stage in crafting the ultimate outdoor alfresco experience.
